Christian Education

The church has recently adopted as new Strategic Plan. Part of the Plan relates to Christian Education. When people think of Christian Education at FBC we want them to feel that it--
  • is open to the whole diversity of God's children as participants, potential leaders, and decision-makers.
  • is Bible-based for content.
  • emphasizes grace.
  • is dialog/interactive-oriented.
  • is relevant to daily life and current events.
  • promotes sharing of personal spiritual development.
  • is open to intergenerational programs.
  • is attractive, appealing, and engaging.
  • clearly communicates CE schedules and opportunities.
  • is well organized.
  • supports growth numerically and spiritually.
We want to get that way by doing some special things, among them-
  • offer a comprehensive educational program for persons from birth to older age.
  • pay particular emphasis until the end of 2003 to enhancing our children's learning and recreation programs.
  • improve communication throughout the congregation regarding our Sunday School ministry.
  • seek to provide new study opportunities.
  • provide semi-annual development opportunities to Christian Education faculty and leaders.
  • seek to determine constituents' needs and offer educational opportunities based upon those needs.
  • utilize a wide range of methods to provide Christian Education.
  • design educational ministries for those both within and beyond our present congregation.
  • secure a Minister of Christian Education by July 2003.
